Recovering Value from Impacted Wines: A Breakthrough in Selective Remediation
Off-aromas caused by factors such as frost, pyrazines, Brettanomyces, MOG, and smoke can significantly impact wine quality. Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) are a cutting-edge technology designed to selectively remove unwanted compounds to help unmask wine’s desirable attributes and recover its value.
On Thursday 10 April 2025, Napa winemakers gathered at VA Filtration for a technology briefing to:
Discover how MIPs work
Hear from local wineries on their experiences using MIPs
Participate in a tasting of a MIP treated, pyrazine and smoke impacted wine
Receive a post-event technical tasting report including sample analytics
PAST EVENT: SBVA Smoke remediation technology briefing
Santa Barbara Vintners Association members gathered at Cambria Estate Winery to attend a smoke remediation technology briefing. During the briefing they had the opportunity to learn, discuss and taste smoke impacted wines treated using amaea’s molecularly imprinted polymer technology.
